Pom Dance
Don’t be fooled by the pom poms. Allstar Pom Dance is a fast paced, highly energetic genre of Allstar cheer dance. Choreography relies on control, precision and excellent timing to create stunning visuals. Pom Dance incorporates Jazz, Hip Hop and Ballet Technique and over time has started to incorporate tumbling and acrobatics. Obsidian Cheer and Dance is currently home to 3 Pom teams (all competition teams). We are the current Grand Champions (Southern Chill, 2023) and are heading to Orlando, Florida to compete at The Allstar Worlds Championships in 2025 after winning a bid at UDE Championships (Walsall, 2023)
All Pom teams require a try-out/audition to be on a team. Keep your eye out on our social for information about upcoming trials. We normally recruit every August/Sept for new members.
Lyrical Dance
Allstar Lyrical dance is a combination of ballet, acrobatics, jazz and modern. We are often inspired by the lyrics of music to create a dance that focuses on strong emotions; happy, sad, jealous, angry etc. It is the dancer’s job to portray the emotion and story of the song.

Mystic Lyrical
Level: Beginner/Recreational

Ages: 4-6
Competition Teams: Luna and Supernova will be competing in the lyrical division for the first time with Obsidian this season. These teams train 1.5 hours a week with technique and will be competing at 3 competitions in the year 2024. We will be recruiting for these teams in Sept 24’.
