Meet the team

  • Harriet (Co-Owner & Head Coach)

    Coach Harriet has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She has been coaching for 10 years in Gymnastics and Dance and 5 years in Allstar Cheerleading. Her love for Cheerleading began at University when she was appointed President of the Cheerleading society alongside her studies in Psychology at Bath Spa University.

    Her current qualifications are as follows: Level 1 & 2 General Gymnastics, Allstar Pom, Jazz and Lyrical (advanced), Level 1-6 Allstar Cheerleading as well as Safeguarding Children and Adults with SEND, Safeguarding Children and adults in sports, First Aid (adult and paediatric) and Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management.

    Her favourite skill to perform: basing a full around.

  • Mollie (Co-Owner & Head Coach)

    Coach Mollie had been dancing for 12 years before she started University to study Philosophy, Ethics and Religion. In 2017 she met Harriet through the Cheerleading Society at Bath Spa, where her love for the sport returned and has not gone since. In 2019, Mollie was appointed Vice President of the Cheerleading society alongside Coach Harriet. This is when the dream team began.

    Her current qualifications are as follows: Level 1-6 Allstar Cheerleading, Allstar Pom, Jazz and Lyrical (advanced), Safeguarding child and adults in sport, Safeguarding child and adults with SEND, First Aid.

    Her favourite skill to perform: a firebird in dance or basing any release style move in Cheer.

    “I can not wait to compete in lyrical for the first time and am especially excited to attend all the comps we are going too to watch our Junior and Master teams perform! Plus showcase is going to be epic!”

  • Emmie (Head Coach)

    Emmie has been dancing for 18 years and cheerleading for 10. She first met Harriet and Mollie at University on the Cheerleading society where she competed with them on Level 1. Before moving to Bristol, Emmie competed with her home team ‘Team Spirit’ in Manchester on their level 6 monthly team.

    Her current qualifications are as follows: Level 1-3 Allstar Cheerleading, First Aid (paediatric and adult), Safeguarding children and adults in sport and allergy and anaphylaxis management.

    Her favourite skill to perform: extended heel stretch

  • Lola (Assistant Coach)

    Lola has been Cheerleading for 11 years and only recently gained her coaching qualifications in Levels 1 & 2 Cheer with BGU. She is currently competing with her local team Extreme (Level 3) and Obsidian Diamonds (Masters, Level 1).

    Her favourite skill to perform: Round-off back-handspring series

  • Felicity (Assistant Coach)

    Felicity has been a member of Obsidian since our doors opened in 2020. She has since worked her way up from a Junior Assistant to Assistant Coach and now leads her own Lyrical class on a Wednesday, under supervision.

    Felicity is a well-rounded athlete/dancer, currently competing on all Senior Cheer ad Dance teams and alongside this is studying Sport Management at Bath College.

    Her current qualifications are as follows: Childcare Level 3, First Aid (adult and paediatric) Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management, Levels 1 & 2 Cheerleading

  • Kadie (Junior Assistant)

    Kadie has been an athlete with Obsidian since the company started in 2020. She has helped gain several 1st place titles for the following teams; Eclipse Pom and Elite Level 2 Cheer and currently competes on Stardust Pom, Luna Lyrical and Senior Elite Level 2 Cheer.

    Her current qualifications are as follows: Level 1 & 2 Junior Assistant Cheer, Basic First Aid and in her own time Kadie is apart of the St John’s Ambulance Cadet Group where they take part in volunteer work and learn valuable life skills.

    Her favourite skill to perform: Walkover to handspring tumble

  • Ellana (Admin Lead)

    Ellana is on of our Admin Ladies and Safeguarding Lead. Her daughter Kadie is apart of numerous teams on Obsidian so Ellana is already used to the running of Obsidian and what our core values are.

    Ellana is currently a vital member of the Masters Level 1 Cheerleading Team: Diamonds, which is set to compete for the first time in July 2024.

    Her current qualifications are as follows: First Aid (adult and paediatric), Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management, and Level 1 & 2 Cheerleading. On top of this, Ellana has been developing her knowledge on a number of CPD courses, which include Austism Awareness, Mental Health Support for Children and Child Safeguarding. She has recently taken on more of a coaching role as she is beginning to enjoy watching the children develop.

  • Natasha (Coach)

    Natasha (or Tash) leads the Monday AcroGym program at The Hive Community Centre in Peasedown. Tash is a circus performer, cheerleader and dancer with extensive knowledge on Acrobatics, Handstand Balance and Contortion.

    She is a vital member of our Level 3 Non Tumble Team Odyssey.

    We are delighted to have Tash apart of the Obsidian Team and look forward to seeing how much the child progress with her.
